Kurt Angle is first 2017 WWE HOF Inductee

News broke on Monday that Kurt Angle will be the first inductee into the 2017 class of the WWE Hall of Fame. An enthusiastic crowd in Little Rock, AK seemed overjoyed after watching the video package announcing his induction for the live WWE Raw broadcast.

Having secluded myself for the last few months from — most everything online, I had no idea that this announcement was coming. It was nice to get a little surprise out of WWE for a change. Especially considering that I think I hate wrestling.

There’s no question that Angle deserves to be in the Hall of Fame. But there’s got to be more out of his return to WWE, doesn’t there? Being only a year older than Triple H, there’s got to be at least one more run out of him, right? Given that most everyone that goes into the Hall are typically retired, or soon to be, that would be a bit disappointing if that were the case for Angle.

After the drama that was Angle’s exit from WWE some 11 years ago, he would go on to be successful in TNA (where he’d create many-a great memory with the likes of Samoa Joe, Sting, AJ Styles and others) and IWGP (where he would even have a rematch with former WWE rival, Brock Lesnar).

No matter what is in store in the future for the Olympic gold medalist, this is nothing but good news. For WWE. For the fans. And. Well. For my on-again-off-again relationship with WWE.
